In reply to Mr. Lucas's letter of the 24th ultimo (11358/02) and to previous correspondence, I am directed by the Lords Commissioners of His Majesty's Treasury to state for the information of Mr. Secretary Chamberlain, that They are authorising the Postmaster General to take the necessary steps for the extension of the permy post to letters from the United Kingdom to the British Postal Agencies in China.

My Lords understand that, in the meantime correspondence from these agencies prepaid 4 cents per ounce is not surcharged by the British Post Office.
